Course Requirements

A Prohibited Employment Declaration must be signed by students in courses where contact will be made with children. SEEK Learning will provide you with this form when you enrol.

As part of the course assessment, you'll need to undertake supervised work placement for a minimum of 160 hours in the community services industry. Your work placement will need to be pre-approved by OTEN.

There are 14 units to be completed in this TAFE community services course: 10 core modules and 4 electives.

  • Maintain an effective work environment

  • Advocate for clients
  • Work effectively in the alcohol and other drugs sector
  • Assess needs of clients with alcohol and/or other drugs
  • Facilitate links with other services
  • Work effectively with people with a disability

  • Develop, facilitate and monitor all aspects of case management
